UX casestudy for in-app purchasing (2019)

Mercado is a mobile e-commerce app prototype that was created in response to Instagram retail, an in-app purchase feature that was released on March 19th, 2019.

With context of the User's motivations, we are able to reason out an in-app purchase + checkout onboarding flow that would allow them to attain their goal of buying instagram inspired looks with ease. Below is the user flow of this process.

From there, high fidelity screens were designed with visual assets and finishing touches that incorporated the User profile and end goal.

This proof-of-concept was then finalized with an interactive high-fidelity prototype, and can be viewed here.

Case study next steps: user validation (interviews), functional usability testing (prototype demo), A/B testing.
